Company History
The company was founded in 1949 as Sterling Paper Corporation. Sterling was a paper merchant with value added converting services supporting the electrical markets. It differentiated itself through excellent service. The company was the co-inventor of the Magna-Ply process, a revolutionary new way of applying insulation on magnet wire, it remains the industry standard today. In 1996, Sterling Paper Corporation merged with Xamax Inc. to form Xamax Industries, Inc. Xamax is a diversified global company today. Although the electrical market remains one of its core focus, through diversification it has become a leading supplier of products to the Composite, Wire & Cable and Consumer markets.
